He debuted in Firenze as Canio opposite Carelli & was at La Scala the following year in La Wally under Toscanini-quite a start! For 5 years he sang in all the Italian theatre leaving only to sing Aida in Cairo. He came to
Chicago in 1912 and shortly there after was the first to sing Otello at La Scala since Tamagno 26 years before! For the next few years the sang Otello all over and then turned to the baritone parts like Gerard & Tonio as
