BONINSEGNA, Celestina- SPc bust portrait of the VERY IMPORTANT Italian Dramatic soprano whose odd stage career
(1897-1923) which embraced appearances at all the major stops on the circuit-La Scala, Madrid, London, Buenos Aires, Rio
de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, St.Petersburg, Moscow, Chicago, Boston and the Met in Aida with Caruso (only 2 times there) never
lived up to the astounding recordings she made some of the very best in her repertory. The card is also addressed on the
verso with another huge signature by the DIVA. Her signature in any form is EXTREMELY RARE and here we have 2!!!

d/s 1931. He created Dupont's "Antar", Roussel's "Padmavati" among others and was the first Aeneas in a complete Berlioz's
Les Troyens at the Paris Opera in 1921. Again superb recordings
GALLI-MARIE, Celestine- "bon mot" line Geneve 16.7.88 Galli- Marie penned by the creator of Mignon and Carmen
GAYARRE, Julian- one of the GREAT tenor stars of the 19th century creator of Donizetti's "Il Duca d'Alba" and
Ponchielli's "La Gioconda" who died at the age of 46- was to have appeared at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday Evening 23
June 1886 before Queen Victoria. Here is the lace paper bordered program 7 _ x 9" Also appearing were Santley, Trebelli,
Patti and Albani quite a group!! Gayarre was to have sung 'Salve dimora' from "Faust" and the Quartet from "Rigoletto" with
Albani, Trebelli and Santley. As it turned out a printed announcement inside the program states "Signor GAYARRE is prevented
from singing this Evening through indisposition. His place will be taken by Signor RUNCIO." ALL GAYARRE MATERIAL IS RARE and
this is double interesting as he did not indeed appear!!

and, of course, Verdi's "Don Carlo"- one of the 19th century's GREAT DIVAS
