ESCALAIS, Leon- SP 6 x 9 photo as Arnold in GUILLAUME TELL (his great specialty role) on 10 x 13" photographer's
mount elaborately d/s in his extremely florid hand. He also notes under the image "j'avais 40 ans" (I was 40 years old).
This was signed later in life. Escalais was one of France's greatest dramatic tenors famed for his tops notes and his
recordings are collector's treasures. Edge tears not affecting. This is an exceptional memento
