choreographed "La Fille mal Gardee" which starred his wife Mlle. Theodore and is the oldest ballet still performed today. He brought comic elements and
realism, the use of peasant's lives to ballet rather than mythology and idealism. A brilliant teacher his pupils included Charles Didelot the father of
Russian ballet and Salvatore Vigano the first important Italian ballet figure. This 1 page letter c 1789 (with revolutionary calendar date) is addressed to
Monsieur (Senataur) Perregaux of some importance saying that he has not seen the letter till now as he was away..."I have followed your orders all will be done
that you asked...oh that M. Beaumorthes is guilty, but soon the truth will be known...as soon as you leave your bed come visit I await you with pleasure!..."

68. DUNCAN, Isadora- SPc of the San Francisco born dancer /teacher who started theatre and vaudeville as a child, arriving
in London very young her unique"dancing style" took off and she established her first school in Germany 1904 to teach children
art and movement as well as academics. Later schools in Russia and Paris financed by her caused her to perform incessantly and
leave the schools to her sister to run. Her 2 children drowned in Paris and she adopted 6 from the school the "Isadorables" who
later performed with "Mama"- she died in a car accident on the Riviera 1927,her scarf got caught in the car's wheels. A great original

73. FOKINE, Mikhail- SPc Imperial Russian image (1916) of the IMPORTANT dancer /choreographer who revolutionized
dance as summed up in his" Five Principles" printed in the London Times Jul7 6,1914. In 1905 he created the choreography
for Anna Pavlova's "Swan" to Saint-Saens music which became a legend in it's time. He created revolutionary works for the
Maryinsky and then for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes including Ô"Firebird", "Petrouchka" & "Dapnis & Chloe". After the
revolution he settled in the US and choreographed for The Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo, ABT and Broadway as well as taught.
Some of his plotless ballets eg. "Chopniana"-later "Les Sylphides" inspired Balanchine. He died in 1942 & his great influence
