He also composed many violin compositions and did many transcriptions of music by Mendelssohn, Rubinstein & Wagner. He came out of retirement in 1952 to give the world premiere of Menotti's Violin Concerto which was dedicated to him. Among his pupils were Oscar Shumsky, Felix Slatkin and Hidetaro Suzuki!
