Verdi. Illness had prevented him from creating Aida in Cairo. He also conducted the Italian premieres of Wagner's
Lohengrin and Tannhauser. UNUSUAL

monogram RGy) and signed below by Munch. Unusual

Detroit Orchestra during the 1950s-60s and was one of the mid 20th century's leading conductors of the French repertory
having started at the Lamoreux Orchestra and Concerts Colonne in Paris. Numerous wonderful recordings. Elusive
SOLTI, Sir Georg- SPc of the VERY YOUNG conductor. VERY UNCOMMON this vintage. Also d/s verso 1956 (the image is
quite a bit earlier)
