31. PIZZETTI, Ildebrando- SP 4 x 5.5" photo of the Italian composer part of the Generation of 1880- together with Resphigi & Malipiero they became 3 of the most important 20th century composers. A pupil of Tebaldini he later taught Castelnuovo-Tedeco among others. Pizzetti was also a critic and author. Pizzetti's operas had strong libretti and appealed to a group of singers of great vocal and dramatic personality eg Elvira Casazza & Clara Petrella among others. The operas mostly premiered in Milano and Rome include Debora e Jaele, Fra Gherardo, La Figlia di orio and Assasino nella Cattedrale.
