I am, in the country to write the opera ["I Puritani"] for the Italian Opera Company in Paris in peace, and I have left instructions for your letters to be forwarded to Puteaux ...de Neuilly No 19 bis... Don't fail to remember me to His Exc. the Ambassador by presenting him my respects. Accept the assurances of my esteem and consideration, and I remain Your very affectionate friend V. Bellini Puteaux 14 June"[1834] – It was at Puteaux that Bellini died just before the premiere of "I Puritani". Together with unsigned image of the composer.

Bruckner was one of the towering figures of late 19th century Austrian music but was unappreciated till near the end of his life. He is fully recognized today for his greatness. 13. GADE, Niels- AMusQS on a large 8 x 11" page penned by the important Danish composer/conductor (Leipzig Gewandahus & Denmark)/teacher. He greatly admired Mendelssohn and Schumann and his writing was in that tradition. He was one of the most active people in Copenhagen musical life during the mid 19th century writing prolifically in all forms, conducting and reorganizing the conservatory.

GUBAIDULINA, Sofa- AMusQS on a 5 x 7" photo of the Russian Tartar composer who became known in the west during the early 1980s through Gidon Kremer's championing of her violin concerto "Offertormium". In 1979 she was blacklisted as one of the "Kherenikov's Seven" at the Sixth Congress of the Union of Soviet Composers for unapproved participation in some festivals of Soviet music in the West. Gubaidulina, Tan Dun, Osvaldo Golijov & Wolfgang Rihm were commissioned to write a piece for the Passion 2000 project in commemoration of J.S. Bach. This was followed in 2002 by the Johannes Ostern ("Easter according to John"). The two works together form a "diptych" on the death and resurrection of Christ, her largest work to date. Gubaidulina lives in Germany where she is highly revered.

15. HAGEMAN, Richard- SP 6 x 8" Mishkin portrait of the Dutch/American composer/conductor. His best known song is "Do Not Go My Love" a setting of a Tagore poem beloved by a whole generation of singers. As a composer he is best known for his superlative film scores "Stagecoach"(for which he shared an Academy Award), "The Long Voyage Home", "Fort Apache" & "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" among others. As a conductor he worked at the Metropolitan Opera from 1914-1932 as well as being music director of the Chicago Civic Opera and Ravinia Park Opera for 7 years and he headed the Curtis Institute from 1932-1936. If that was not enough he appeared in small role in 11 movies including as an opera conductor in "The Great Caruso" and was THE TEACHER OF FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS!!.
