manuscripts on hand. In the meantime I assure you that I pay debts of any kind honestly. Therefore, I
anticipate to receive the 50 dollars immediately when handing over the two songs mention above. I greet you
with highest regards and esteem. Albert Lortzing Berlin June 7, 1850." There is 1" tape on right edge that has
darkened and covers the ends of certain words which are none the less readable. SCARCE autograph in any form.
BIG SIGNATURE This comes together with a 19th century piano/vocal score "Czar und Zimmermann"
MAHLER, Gustav- great big FULL signature 3" long matted with sepia image. Mahler is one of THE LEGENDS.

METZ, Theordore- AMusQS - "There'll be Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight" signed by the composer with
best wishes 1922" The song was originally written in 1886 in New Orleans and became a great hit during the
Spanish American War. Metz was one of the early leading jazz composers of Tin Pan Alley

REYER, Ernest- ALS 1 p in French from the French composer and critic for the Paris Journal des Debats
from which he covered the world premiere of Verdi's "Aida" at Cairo December 1871. In this letter he writes
that he is being asked to talk about his visit to Cairo for that occasion. This letter is tipped onto the page
facing the cover page of the piano/vocal score for his highly successful opera "Salambo"

& Rossini interpreter Giuditta Pasta. "Dear Giuditta, Next Sunday there will be a concert at Baron Rothschild's

Beecham, always a Strauss champion, who in 1947 produced a Strauss Festival in London as a money maker for the
temporarily war impoverished composer and it was during this period. that Beecham gave legendary performances
of the final scene of "Ariadne auf Naxos" with Cebotari & "Elektra" with Schluter, Welitsch, Hongen &
Schoffler and shortly after "Ariadne auf Naxos" in the original version at the Edinburgh Festival
SUPPE, Franz de (von)- large dedication and signature..." alla stimatissimo Sga Scipione in gentile
memoria il compositore della FATINIZA Francesco de Suppe"- this written on the page facing the dedication
page of the piano/vocal score for "Fataniza" in which Signora Scipion sang Nenuphar. Lortzing a
Belgian/Dalmatian active in Austria he is best known for his operettas "Boccacio" & Donna Juanita" and his
"Light Cavalry" & "Poet and Peasant" overtures. UNCOMMON
USANDIZAGA, Jose Maria- AMusQS on a postcard below 2 laid down photo images of the Basques composer a
pupil of Plante and d'Indy who died at 28. His most lasting work is the opera "La Golondrinas" revised by his
brother in 1929
