MASGAGNI, Pietro- AMusQS from his opera "Iris" Bologna 2.V1.'902 with unsigned photo of the composer
MERCADANTE, Saverio- ALS 1 p in Italian from the brilliant 19th century composer of nearly 60 operas some of
which "Il Giuramento" (1837) and "Il Bravo" (1839) among others have enjoyed a revival during the late 20th century.
He also wrote funeral symphonies for Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini & Pacini This interesting letter "to amico
carissimo (dearest friend) for Palm Sunday I am going to have a musicale at my home and asked Signor Guercia the
distinguished basso cantante if he would sing from PoliutoŠ" and goes on about the details of the program. Signed
20 Marzo 1845 and addressed in his hand with a second signature. Nicely framed in a gold frame with maroon matte
overall 12 x 16"

SHOSTAKOVICH, Dimitri- signature and return address on an envelope sent by the Russian composer whose stock
is still fastly rising together with unsigned photo of the composer
STRAVINSKY, Igor- SP 7 x 9" portrait of the composer studying a score- the big signature is very clear the
dedication and date (Venezia 1951) have faded -this was at the time of the world premiere of "The Rake's Progress"
VERDI, Giuseppe- ANS to his lawyer Dr. Antonio Carrara- 1 p in Italian -"with a thousand greetings and thanks
GVerdi" together with envelope addressed in Verdi's hand
WAGNER, Richard ALS- the last page of a 5 pp letter addressed to Dr. Oscar Schanzenbach, personal doctor to
Princess Chlodwig zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfuerst (according to Dr. Voss, Richard Wagner Complete edition,
Munich)..."I profess to contribute to the glory of the country happily and willingly. However, enough! Would you
be kind enough to inform me whether you succeeded in advising the Prince of the information I want him to have.
With sincere thanks and great esteem, I am, your humble Richard Wagner-Luzern, January 8 1867" Together with
unsigned image of Wagner this will frame very nicely!
