ADLER, Hugo Chaim- dedicates and signs 3 page printed copy of V'shomru 1V a Cantorial mood by Hugo Ch. Adler. Adler
(1894-1955) was one of the most important German Reform cantors officiating as the Oberkantor of Mannheim's liberal synagogue
and composing much liturgical music still in use worldwide. In 1927 he founded the World Jewish Music Center in Jerusalem.
During the early Nazi years he also ran the Kulturbund in Mannheim. He came to the USA in 1939 and was Cantor and Music
Director of Temple Emanu-el in Worcester, Mass from 1939 -1955. An interesting aside he and his family owned and lived in the
home of Constanza Mozart in Mannheim. Extremely scarce bit of cantorial memorabilia
CALOMIRIS (KALOMIRIS), Manolis- AMusQS Parigi le 3/11/48 on a 4 x 6 card below a laid down photo. The Greek composer
(1883-1962) was the leading force of Greek nationalism in music using Greek folk song material and Greek subjects. He was
Vienna trained at the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Wien (1901-1906)- his music has a Wagnerian influence imposed on a Russian
style of composing and instrumentation. He was extremely prolific and a very important figure on the Greek musical scene.

impossible at present as a new work of mine (Eventyr) will be performed by Wood at his Symphony Concert Jan 11th and I have

Sammons) at 188 Cromwell Rd on the 8th to Mr. Little. The wind parts I have corrected myself but the strings have not yet been

Orchestra with music of Liapounov and Vines as piano soloist and then the mystery man?

master to the Royal family he wrote some of the greatest Neopolitan Songs immortalized by Caruso, Gigli and others. Here he
