BEETHOVEN, Ludwig von- STUPENDOUS large pencil signature on the verso of a letter written by his attorney Dr. Johann Baptist
von Bach "You can keep the bow for the coming half year Otherwise, one might raise some objections. From 1st October, 1818 until
1st April, 1819. Under Beethoven's signature is written in German "presented as a souvenir to Mrs. Elizabeth Schmetzer by A.
Schindler (Beethoven's friend and biographer Frankfurt a. Main in March 1855". This is on a sheet matted together with a noble
stone print of Beethoven. Overall 14 1/2 x 19" It is EXTREMELY SELDOM that full signatures of Beethoven appear.

BERNSTEIN, Leonard- AMusQS from WEST SIDE STORY d/s on 3 x 5 card
(CHOPIN, Frederic) - pencil drawing of Chopin on his deathbed by the Polish artist Antar Teofil KWIATKOVSKI 1809-1891. The
artist, an intimate friend of Chopin was present at his death and made a number of renditions of what he saw. His works were
shown at the Salons de Paris 1830-1870 are displayed in the museums of Compiegne, Cracow. The drawing is 2" x 3 1/2" framed to
5 1/2x78" UNCOMMON

is the latest Diva to take on this great tour de force role this season at Carnegie Hall. Lovely example on 7 x 9" paper together

penned by Donizetti below a drawing by the Nobile Donna Clelia Vera d'Aragone 14 Luglio 1838 inspired by Donizetti's Opera and
showing Lucia and Edgardo rapturuously singing in the garden. The large album page is 8" x 11" and extremely attractive and
unusual
DUBOIS, Theordore- AMusQS (O vos omnes) penned by the composer/organist from his popular masterpiece Les Sept Paroles du
Christ- 6 Mai 1919 on 6 x 8 1/2" leaf. Very attractive

FRANCHETTI, Alberto- AMusQS from the Italian Jewish composer's Cristoforo Colombo commissioned for the 400th anniversary of
Columbus's discovery of America and premiered in Genova in 1892. The opera enjoyed quite a vogue for about 20 years (Raisa,
Ruffo and Bassi sang in the American premiere in Philadelphia) and it was recently revived in Frankfurt
FRIML, Rudolph- AMusQS "Only a Rose" from The Vagabond King by the ever popular Bohemian born American operetta composer.
The Firefly and Rose Marie were two of his other immortal stage and screen hits. Nicely matted below a photo of the composer at
the piano

JOLIVET, Andre- SP 4 x 6 bust shot of the French composer who was inspired by Varese and started La Jeune France with
Baudrier, Daniel Lesur and Messiaen in 1936. This was a group dedicated to the promotion of French music in a national style. He
was Musical Director of the Comedie Francaise 1943-1959 as well as prominent conductor especially of his own prolific output as
well as a teacher. SCARCE

write the title of the opera in Italian rather than the original French. Interesting association

RACHMANINOFF, Sergei SP back program cover photo advertisement for Steinway at Aeolian Company of Missouri showing an oval
photo of Rachmaninoff alongside a Steinway with exceptionally large (for him) bold signature S.Rachmaninoff. The concert was with
the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra under Vladimir Golschmann November 27 & 28, 1936 and he played his Piano Concerto #2 and the
orchestra played his Smphony #3. Very attractive. Rachmaninoff is in the air this year
