life (stamped 7.2.1893) with allusion to Verdišs FALSTAFF in the text..."I leave tomorrow morning
for Hamburg. I am desolate that I cannot be at the premiere of FALSTAFF... I am fearful of taking
this long voyage..." Autograph material of the composer of LA WALLY & LORELY dead before 40, and
much esteemed by Toscanini and others is exceedingly scarce. This is a fine example. Together with

The Italian Jewish composer also wrote CRISTOFORO COLOMBO which was recently revived in Frankfurt
with Bruson

on AL on which he has also penned a treble & bass clefplus-VIVO-.CHARMING. Together with unsigned
photo of him conducting. EXCEEDINGLY RARE SIGNATURE
*026. LEONCAVALLO,Ruggiero-AMusQS "RIDI PAGLIACCI" penned across the rotund composer's chest
Brissanzo 9.1.l9ll- perhaps the most recognizable opera tune of all time!. GREAT
*028. MASCAGNI, Pietro- AMusQS from IRIS which had a recent New York City revival. Bologna 2.V1.'902
*032. MESSIAEN, Olivier- SP greeting and signature on color newspaper photo 5 x 8 which has the
printed title Une pleiade d'artistes internationaux pour le plus grand compositeur du monde- a description
with which many would readily agree! Signed images of Messiaen are quite scarce and this is very attractive
*033. MEYERBEER, Giacomo- sends his compliments nice big signature together with unsigned image.
His grand opera LE PROPHETE was recently revived in Vienna with Domingo & Baltsa
*034. NANCARROW, Conlon- signature on verso of photograph of the American composer who lived in
Mexico together with his envelope of transmittal which has his printed Mexico D.F. address. EXTREMELY
TOUGH signature to find
*036. ORFF, Carl-Large AMusQ- "O FORTUNA' from CARMINA BURANA his masterpiece, not signed
*039. RIMSKY- KORSAKOFF, Nikolai- SP Mrosovsky St.Petersbourg cabinet photo of the seated composer
d/s l907. Very bottom of the mount is slightly trimmed below the writing on the logo & the writing
is ever so slightly light but still bold
*042. SCHNITTKE, Alfred- SP reproduction print of the late Russian/German resident composer.
His last opera GESUALDO was conducted by Rostropovich at the Vienna State Opera. Widely regarded
as one of the late 20th century greats his signature is exceedingly difficult to find and always
rather shaky because of his illness
*043. SCHOENBERG, Arnold- AMusQS four bars notated for piano from his cantata GURRELIEDER -from
Part one for the tenor Waldemar at the words "Mein Haupt wiegt auf lebenden Wogen"-Schoenberg's
opera MOSES und ARON is being premiered at the Met this season
*046. STRAUSS, Johann- SP 4 x 6 printed portrait of the WALTZ KING with nice signature
*050. WAGNER, Richard- ALS l p attractive page in German- "Dear Mr. Volk! What peculiar people
you gentlemen are!-So: a good,lasting and friendly understanding is of no value to you? It is fortunate
that the present- as I gather-profitable transactions keep things on good terms:I hope that in time you will
