historian & critic one of the most important figures in musicology and his volumes of musical biography are astounding. He
also composed 7 opera for the Opera Comique as well as other works, In this 1850 letter in French to Ricordi he writes "
permit me to commend to your goodwill and your influence Mlle. Dubignon who goes to the Theatre La Scala as premiere
danseuse during the coming season. This artist poses a talent distinguished, pure and correct (what else I wonder!!) For
several seasons she has occupied the same position at Brussels with great success. I hope that her good fortune in Milano

Nancarrow was the innovator of a technique of recordings notes on piano player rolls which must be activated in
