34.VACCAJ, Nicolai- ALS 1 p (23 Mag 1839) from the Italian composer (1790-1848) who composed 17 operas that enjoyed great popularity when premiered. In 1837 he joined forces with Coppola, Donizetti, Mercadante & Pacini in composing a cantata for the death of Malibran. His final scene of "Giulietta e Romeo" was often substituted for the last act of Bellini's "I Capuletti ed I Montecchi" because of the aria "Ah, se tu dormi"-this short letter 25 Maggio 1839 is addressed to music publisher Giovanni Ricordi" founder of Casa Ricordi.
